Call for Paper (APRIA)

The Asia-Pacific Risk and Insurance Association (APRIA) invites you to present a paper for at its 26th annual conference at the Shanghai University of Finance & Economics (SUFE)(, Shanghai, People’s Republic of China, on 24 July (Sunday) – 27 July (Wednesday) 2022. The conference mode (online, onsite or both) will be announced later. Both English and Chinese articles are accepted, and concurrent sessions in different languages will be arranged. However, only articles written in English can apply for the following scholarships. Please submit proposal and paper via email to:

The conference welcomes theoretical or applied research papers on risk or insurance topics. Specific subject areas include, but are not limited to, financial/insurance literacy, digitalization, ESG/sustainability, insurance economics, risk management, insurance law & regulation, insurance company operations, public policy, health care, international insurance issues, retirement, employee benefits, longevity, social insurance, and insurance education/pedagogical issues. Young scholars or graduate students are particularly welcomed to submit proposals for a special session at the 2022 conference.

Proposal Submission (in two separate pdf files): by February 15, 2022
1. One file containing the author(s) and full contact information, plus paper and abstract only;
2. Another file containing no author information but with the paper title and a detailed proposal (i.e., the purpose and importance of the research, methodology and data, expected results, and references). A full paper in lieu of the proposal is encouraged.

Full Paper Submission (in pdf file): by June 1, 2022
Those who submit full papers by the deadline may apply for the following scholarships or award in their email of the final paper submission.

● yobo Life Travel Scholarships (Conference Registration Fee + US$500)

With financial support of Kyobo Life Insurance Company, the APRIA may offer up to 10 travel scholarships to junior lecturers or professors with less than 3 years of academic experience or a doctoral candidate who will be presenting a paper onsite at the conference.

-Yu Ziyou Memorial Scholarships (additional US$500)

Those who are residing in developing countries among the recipients of the Kyobo Life Travel Scholarship are eligible for additional US$500, up to 5 applicants.

● Harold D. Skipper Award for the Best Paper (US$1,000)

Under the terms of this award, the winner(s) would agree to: (a) send in the full paper by the full paper submission deadline, (b) the full paper must not be under review or to be published by other journals, and (c) submit their paper to the Asia-Pacific Journal of Risk & Insurance (APJRI)– the flagship journal under APRIA – to be considered for publication in accordance with the submission invitation of APJRI.
Failure to comply with these terms will result in disqualifying for the award. If you would like to be considered for this award, please state in your proposal/full paper submission: “I would like to be considered for the Harold Skipper award and have read the terms as stated in the Call for Papers”. Award winner(s) will be announced at the conference.

亚太风险与保险学会(APRIA)第26届年会将于2022年7月24日(周日)-27日(周三)在中国上海的上海财经大学举行,现诚邀您积极投稿。年会的具体举办方式(线上、线下或线上线下同时)以及会议安排将稍后公布。

本次年会同时接受中文和英文论文。但请注意,只有英文论文才能申请下列奖项和资助。请通过电子邮件提交到:

会议欢迎各位提交有关风险或保险主题的理论研究或应用研究的论文。具体的研究主题包括但不限于:金融或保险理论研究、数字化、ESG/保险的可持续性、保险经济学、风险管理、保险法律法规、保险公司运营、医疗保健、国际保险、退休及员工福利、养老保险、社会保障、以及保险教育或教学的相关问题。为鼓励青年学者的研究,组委会特别为青年学者和研究生设置了专门通道,非常欢迎各位青年学者和研究生的积极投稿。

一、投稿须知
1、论文计划书:请在2022年2月15日之前分别提交下列两份文件(pdf格式)
● 论文研究计划和摘要,包括作者及完整的联系方式;
● 论文研究计划和摘要,不包含任何有关作者的信息。
论文研究计划中应包括论文标题和详细的计划,比如研究目的和重要性,方法和数据,预期结果和参考文献等等。我们鼓励大家提交一份完整的论文来代替计划书。
2、论文全文:请在2022年6月1日之前提交(pdf格式)

二、会议奖项
在上述规定的截止日期之前提交完整论文的作者,可以申请以下奖项:
1、教保生命人寿保险公司(Kyobo Life)旅行奖学金(会议注册费+ 500美元)
教保生命人寿保险公司将资助最多10位旅行奖学金。申请者限于在大会线下交流论文的讲师、3年以下研究经历的教授或博士生。
俞自由纪念奖学金(额外的500美元)
最多5名。申请者限于获得教保生命旅行奖学金且居住在发展中国家的作者。
2、Harold D. Skipper最佳论文奖(1000美元)

所有参加者都可以申请Harold D. Skipper 最佳论文奖,但必须承诺:(a)在规定论文提交截止日期前提交论文全文,(b)论文不能已向其他期刊投稿,不能正处于“评审“状态,或已在其他期刊上发表,(c)作者同意将论文向亚太风险与保险学会的会刊(APJRI)投稿。获奖者将被APJRI考虑在APJRI上正式发表。倘若作者未履行上述条款,将导致取消作者的获奖资格。
